During the season of Advent we will be holding brief services on Wednesdays, December 5, 12, and 19, to help you with your preparation to receive the Christ child. Our theme is “Stars of Promise,” and we will see how God spoke promises through the stars of Creation, the stars that Abraham beheld, and the Star of Bethlehem. Service will be at 7:00 PM and will be preceded by a meal at 6:00 PM.
If a noon service works better for your schedule, our sister congregation St. John’s in Algoma (Rankin) has a service at noon, which lasts 40 minutes or less for those who would like to attend during their lunch hour.

On Wednesday evenings in Advent we will be observing Evening Prayer and learning about three women, Eve, Hannah, and Mary, as they had “Hope in God’s Promises.”

6 PM: Meal
7:00 PM: Hymn Sing
7:10 PM: Evening Prayer and Preaching

If you prefer to worship during the daytime, our sister congregation, St. John’s in Algoma, will have the same sermon, but with an abbreviated liturgy lasting no more than 40 minutes. You will be able to come, worship, and be back to work all within your lunch hour.

Saint Peters will be observing special worship services in Advent to aid you in your spiritual preparations for the Feast of the Nativity (Christmas). Saint Peters will conduct services on December 3, 10, and 17 at 7:00 PM, preceded by a parish meal. The service will begin with a ten minute hymn sing and then proceed with “Holden Evening Prayer,” a beautiful setting of the ancient prayer service of Vespers. If you prefer to worship in the noon hour, our sister congregation Saint John’s in Algoma will conduct a service at that time on the same days. The sermon will be the same, but it will use an abbreviated liturgy that will last no more than forty minutes. This service will also be preceded by a meal.
