Ethel Mae Uecker 95, of Forestville, passed away at Sycamore Lodge Senior Living in Algoma on December 3, 2023.  She was born on September 14, 1928, in Sturgeon Bay to Herman and Edna (Kramer) Sperber.  Ethel graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1945 and then worked for Schneider Company.  On October 5, 1946, she married Ralph G. Uecker in Sturgeon Bay.

Ethel was formerly active in the East Maplewood Homemaker’s Club and the Ladies Aide of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville.  Her great joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, dancing, playing cards and entertaining.  Ethel also enjoyed gardening and her flowers.  Alongside her husband, they owned and operated Ralph Uecker and Sons Implement for many years.

Survivors include her three sons, David (Sue) Uecker,  Dale (Norma) Uecker, Jeff (Barb) Uecker, all of Forestville; Eight grandchildren, Ben (Chin), Nick, Krissy (Kevin) Phillips, Tracy (Jeremy) LaCrosse, Brittney (Rich) Peters, Tasha (Bret) Cook, Cody and Ava; Seven great grandchildren, Riley and Ross Phillips; Meghan and Chloe LaCrosse; Braelynn and Braxton Peters, Beaux Cook; one sister, Elaine Halverson, Algoma;  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband;. daughter-in-law, Peggy Uecker; sister, Joan (Blaine) Dreutzer; brother-in-law, Elton Halverson; and a sister-in-law, Edna (Jennings) Schmeling.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com

Daniel John Dahms “Red Fox”, 80, of Forestville died unexpectedly at his home on November 29, 2023.  He was born on March 7, 1943, to the late Alfred and Ruth (Keller) Dahms.  On August 17, 1968, he married the love of his life, Anna Mae Flavion, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville.

After graduating from Algoma High School in 1961, he worked for the Plywood in Algoma.  He then went on to join the Army and served from 1964-1966.  From 1967 until his time of retirement in 2001, Dan worked for Boulanger Construction.  He was a proud member of the Operating Engineers, Local 139.

Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his daughters and grandchildren play sports, and was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan.  He was very passionate about canning his produce from his own garden, and putting on his popular perch fries and trout boils.  He was especially passionate about spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his three daughters, Kim (Todd) Miller, Sue Dahms, and Sherry (Brian) Buhr; three grandchildren, Katie (Kory) Nell, Ashley Whitford (Jarred Pribek), Kordell Draves (Fiancé Erica Griep); one great-granddaughter, Kylee Nell; two sisters, Marlene Raether and Margaret (Ray) Badovski; one brother, Larry (Mary Ann) Dahms; in-laws, Diane (Dennis) Junion, Joan (Tom) Salentine, Colleen (Dave) Tymus; and his special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae; his parents, Alfred and Ruth Dahms, in-laws, Gerald and Ruby Flavion, Russell and Gaylord Flavion.

Funeral services will be 11:30 am Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Forestville.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.  A visitation will be held at the  church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service.   Forbes Funeral Home is serving the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
